Cololnial Timber Windows – Range
Much copied, never equalled – Our Traditional collection marries the finest window technologies from Europe, North America and Scandinavia with time honoured British designs, discreetly and unobtrusively.
Timber windows are available in Flush and Stormproof formats, both packed with innovation but remaining entirely traditional in appearance. Flush casement windows are characterised by openers that close into the frame and finish flush with the face of the window. These simple, hinged casement windows are typical of most mediaeval buildings, of cottages, modest houses of all periods and of houses built in the 1920s and 30s.
Traditional flush casement windows have great aesthetic merit and it is a testament of the longevity of timber that so many have survived much longer than their more modern counterparts in metal and plastic.
Flush Casement WindowsWe supply flush casement windows which look simple but are actually quite sophisticated. Some details, like putty line look to outside are there merely to reinforce the illusion of simplicity.
Hidden away is modern technology: warp resistant timber, locks which engage in multiple points around openers, ventilation grooves, drainage channels and glazing units which lose approximately half the heat of ordinary double glazing. In keeping with tradition flush casements have a deep bottom rail to all sashes.
Storm Proof Windows
Stormproof windows feature rebated openers which lip over the front face of the window frame. Although visually different, our Stormproof system shares the same advanced technology as our flush casement window.
Traditional Flush Casement and Stormproof windows are available with an ‘A’ energy rating.
Box Sash Windows
The design of our vertical sliding sash window is the product of an extensive collaboration between technicians and consultant architect to ensure that the box sash reproduces, as faithfully as possible, the simple grace of English sash windows progressively developed from early use by Wren through their peak of elegance in the late Georgian period and in common usage by the Victorians and Edwardians.
Bi-fold & Patio Doors
Our timber bi-fold doors make a unique design statement that will compliment your taste and style. The doors stack compactly to the side to allow complete opening of the aperture. The result is a liberating feeling of open plan living, where the barriers between
home and garden are removed as required. Versatile and stylish, the system is available in our full colour range. You can even add a flush floor track so that you can enjoy a completely unobstructed walkway.
Bi-fold doors also form an attractive and practical division between the house and the conservatory enabling you to maximize the extra space that a conservatory provides or to close off the conservatory as appropriate.
